"In the interest of full disclosure, let me first say that Arlene and I have been friends for several years. When we met she was taking a break from real estate to spend time with her two daughters, and I was having a rather negative experience with a real estate agent who didn't properly represent me on a house I was just starting to lease.
So I was thrilled when Arlene returned to real estate because I knew she would bring to her career the same integrity and grace she brings to every aspect of her life. I also knew I would be needing a real estate agent soon because the house I was living in was falling down around my ears.
I watched as she diligently went to "school" many hours a day to learn all the changes in real estate that had been implemented in the past couple of years, and I watched how meticulous she was not only with her own career but with each piece of property she represented.
I also watched her at the end of a Sunday open house, which she was sitting for another agent, as she checked and re-checked the front door three times upon leaving just to make absolutely sure she had properly locked it. A woman after my own heart, I thought, as I frequently go through the same ritual with my own home. And while I had been visiting her at that open house, she was extremely gracious to everyone who walked in, even the unkempt man in an unbuttoned shirt and ragged flip-flops.
After going to a number of houses with Arlene to find my new home, I finally found one, and Arlene was so on top of everything and so thorough, there wasn't a single hitch in the entire process. We can now laugh about some of the houses we went into and what awaited us when we crossed the threshold, but more importantly we can both smile at the wonderful new home I can now call mine."
